(The story of ‘The Lorax’ keeps the idea of conserving the environment alive through colors and rhymes)
Dr. Seuss’ book “ The Lorax” is as relevant now as it was back in 1971.
The book pushes the idea of how important it is to conserve the environment.
With the environmental issues that the world is having today, it’s important to be reminded that even a fairy tale could happen.
“ The Lorax” is a great way to show children the value that the environment has.
According to Robert Sager, environmental science professor, we are losing more and more of our rainforests each day.
The place in “The Lorax” might not be a rainforest, but losing all of our trees could be coming in a couple of years.
In the last five months of 2007 the Amazonian rainforest lost an area of forest about the same size as Rhode Island.
The rate of deforestation has been slowing down since 2011, but the problem is that deforestation is still happening.
“The Lorax” might be a children’s book that looks into the future.
The book is battling a relevant issue and it’s showing it in a way that children can understand.
Dr. Seuss does a good job trying to bring subjects like this to children. “The Lorax” it’s a captivating book with beautiful colors and catchy rhymes.
It’s one book that children will continue to read. With the advances in technology, it would only be a matter of time until Dr. Seuss would go digital.
People can now find “The Lorax” and other Dr. Seuss books on the Apple App store along with games about the book.
Mixing a game with the book is another good way to introduce the issue of “The Lorax” to children.
These media outlets are effective ways of teaching because of their long-lasting tendencies.
Nevertheless, the issue of the environment needs to be kept alive, and the book, the movie and the game of “The Lorax” are doing the job.
