Ghost Rider 2 had nothing much to do with the original plot line in the comics in which Johnny blaze appeared in 1972.
To be frank most Nicolas Cage Films aren’t made to be Oscar award winning pieces and this defiantly was no exception.
Johnny Blaze was a stunt man who sold his sold to the devil in order to save his adoptive fathers life. Only to find that dealing with the devil has its price.
Blaze was enlisted to the devils service as the Ghost Rider. In this episode we find our misunderstood hero sent by a monk to protect a boy from becoming the devils puppet.
After all of this Johnny can have his old life back and will be the rider no more.
The Rag tag group of rebels that Blaze enlists for help hit some bumps along the way.
The fact that this film is in 3D doesn’t make it any better.
It may have increased the appeal to such targeted audiences as middle school aged boys.
Even with the writer of The Dark Knight David Goyer on board for this film I realized that it really didn’t matter.
With over the top CGI effects it became apparent that this film didn’t have a leg to stand upon and that the only saving grace was the effects.
The movie become lengthy towards the middle and didn’t keep audience attention.
The First Ghost Rider was Bad so why make a second and so far apart in between?
Marketing strategies for this film are baffling.
The few redeeming qualities in this film are the smart yet subtle Nicolas Cage senses of humor his die-hard fans love.
