Consider Concealed Weapons Carry on Campuses

As the world that we live in gets more and more dangerous, it becomes more important for college students to be able to safely exercise their 2nd amendment right and arm themselves for protection.  Students at Pierce College, who are legally able, should be able to carry their concealed firearms on campus.

Pierce County is an area where crime is not at all uncommon.  We like to think that nothing bad is ever going to happen to us but the unfortunate truth is that sometimes bad things happen to good people.  It is important that we have students that are armed and can take control of the situation if something bad were to ever happen here at Pierce.

Allowing students to carry concealed firearms on campus will be a major deterrent against people who may want to commit acts of violence against our students.  Knowing that there are students with firearms will scare away cowards that are looking to hurt innocent, unarmed students.

Only allowing concealed firearms, not open carry, will keep firearms out of sight so they will not be a disturbance to other students and cause alarm.
