Networking Opens New Doors

July 7, 2026

Many students who pass through the halls will rarely communicate with other people on camp

  1. Their objective is to get to class, get the grades, and go home. However, it doesn’t have to be this way. In fact, it should not be this way. The college offers an abundance of opportunities to get students engaged with others. There is even a club whose whole mission is connecting with other people!

If you are one of those people who have issues connecting with people, you can make your mark by joining a club, participating in the activities that Student Life holds, or starting a group study session with your fellow classmates. Or, try saying hello to a stranger. A great icebreaker is a compliment. Compliment something that you notice about them like a cute pair of pumps or a rockin’ beard. Hopefully those aren’t on the same person, unless you are Conchita Wurst.

Networking with people at the college or in the community can make a difference for you and for others. Push the envelope and connect.
