Many people today live out untruthful lives, which may seem like nothing, but how far is too far and do your intentions make a difference?
You might put on a mask to impress someone of interest upon meeting them, maybe one to better your chances at winning over an interview or various other reasons.
The thing is despite doing so you know that at the end of the day you’re going to have to take it off and no matter how many times you put it on, you know that there are restriction and limits to the lies.
Originally masquerade balls were made for the wealthy, the important and royal. Now why would so many of these well privileged people hide who they were? Simple and for obvious reasons, to hide their identity. Masquerade balls offered these people a chance to conceal their identities and get away with behaviors that
wouldn’t be allowed in their social classes, and others as well.
The mask not only allowed them to lighten up on behavior, but because people were expected to suppress desires and such. People decided to let loose at these balls in inappropriate ways.
Should we continue to allow these types of events to happen knowing that this is what it entails?
Next time you hear of a masquerade ball, do not take it lightly. Stand in protest and keep good morals and values and most importantly our youth from being corrupted with such horrible ideals that the mask instill upon us.
