There are often times when one wonders “What does the future hold?” But the answer never comes until the future is upon us, but by then it is the present and the future is ever more fleeting, leaving us standing on a loose foothold of the unknown.
Google is a colossal billion-dollar company that leaves many in a perpetual state of belief in balance, yet we still stand on the loose foothold.
With its new innovations and acquisitions many see it as a sturdier grasp on technology in this quickly evolving new age. But is its reach going beyond the media and reaching into the personal lives of the multitudes?
Google Maps has become more intricate as time presses on. From giving directions like a GPS on the road, to guiding as you walk the streets, to its newer innovation: giving directions to people on a college campus.
If Google is able to give pictured directions via satellite or direct a college student from room to room, what is stopping Google from tracking people and controlling all technology with each merger and new invention? As technology advances, privacy decreases.
However, the technology innovations are a great advancement for people. Perhaps Google will be a gentle molder of future generations.
Then again, I’ve got my eye out for mind probes with Google logos.
