Thinking realistically, a “Zombie Apocalypse” may not really be possible to happen in the real world.
But just for a giggle, think about what you’d do if you woke up one day, turned the T.V. on and saw people chomping on human flesh. If available to them, some people would probably have guns and ammo with them already, but for us regular people who have no access to firearms, knives and baseball bats would definitely suffice.
Normally, a person would like to be with their family and friends once disaster struck, but that may not be the case when the time comes since they may already be one of the “undead.”
For the most part, a military base would be the best place to seek refuge. Obviously, there would be no shortage of firearms and weapons, not to mention the place is full of soldiers there to protect and serve. You could be airlifted out of there and brought to a safer location. There would be Commissary and PX or BX to get what you needed. If you want absolute safety and security, that is the place to be.
In case you don’t happen live anywhere close to a military base, the mall would be another good place to hide out, just as long as no one inside was infected. If you’ve seen the movie ‘Dawn of the Dead’, you’ll see where I’m coming from. Think about it, the mall would have everything you would need to survive while waiting for help. If you find a way to get inside, the most important thing to do is make sure you lock all the doors and chain them shut. If you’re alone, stay away from dark rooms and shadowed areas. Stay with your group and don’t wander around without a buddy. If you do, and you happen to find yourself in Bath & Body Works, remember that bath salts are for bathing purposes only and not recreational drugs.
For one thing though, having food won’t certainly be an issue. There would be enough food from the food court to last for days, even weeks. Help yourself, you’ll need all the strength and energy you can get. Having a place to stay isn’t a problem since the mall would be big enough. All you have to decide on is which store you’d like to sleep in; Victoria’s Secret or Abercrombie & Fitch? You would have clothing to wear and have all the toiletries you’d need. If you were a girl, you would have all the makeup and hair products there too. Sephora will be your best friend. There’s nothing wrong with looking good while saving your own life and waiting to be rescued.
Living inside a mall doesn’t sound so bad right? Unless of course you ran out of food or ammo, and the “walking dead” get in. Then you’re screwed. But it’s better than locking yourself inside your home, hide under the bed and wait till they leave, chances are, they won’t.
You would be trapped there and the government would obliterate the city in attempts to control the spread of the infection, just like what they did in ‘Resident Evil: Apocalypse.’ Living in a mall, there would be a chance of helicopters and choppers landing on top of the roof to come and save you.
Personally, if I was in that predicament, I’d like to have someone like ‘Lara Croft’ and ‘Alice’ from the Resident Evil there to protect me. They sure do make kicking butt look so easy. It’s all about making sure you shoot them in the head.
