Using cellphones and mass media to communicate has become such a crucial part of our society that it’s hard to imagine being without them.

With all of the emphasis placed on mass media and staying connected today, there has never been more importance placed on having a phone and carrying it with you, all the time.
Ask any adult or teenager today if they have a phone and the answer is almost always a yes. Almost all people have a phone and will admit to carrying it with them for the majority of the day, and they can’t be blamed.
You can you do a ton of things with your phone today. The most basic thing would obviously be the ability to call and talk to people all over the world, but now you can do even more impressive things.
You can start a car with your phone, turn on and off lights in your house and set your alarm system. Order anything from food to clothing to even a newer phone. You can get directions to anywhere you need to go using GPS, connect to the internet and look up anything you want to know, listen to music, take pictures, and even have face to face conversations through video call features that most smart phones have implemented.
While almost all smart phones offer these features, there are two main brands that people seem to want the most, iPhones and Droids.
IPhones are made by Apple, a very popular electronics company that makes phones, computers, TVs, and MP3 players. Droids are made by Windows, another very popular electronics company that also makes phones, and computers.
With both of these companies being so similar it’s hard to really say what the difference is between them. Most people say that the difference lies in the operating systems and the phone designs.
IPhones have generally had the same design, all being a similar shape and only slight differences between each version, whereas droids have more of a variety.
People are so devoted to their devices today that they have started to interfere with social events. It’s become common to see a table of people at a restaurant all looking down at their phones instead of talking with each other, and at the rate phones are becoming more integrated into our lives, this scene could become more and more common.
An interesting and funny way to combat this is to have everyone stack their phones in the middle of the table; if anyone grabs their phone before everyone has finished eating then they must pick up the tab. This is a hilarious yet effective way to make sure a social get together is actually social.
For better or worse, phones have become a part of our culture as a whole and they don’t appear to be going anywhere anytime soon. Whether you support IPhones or Droids there is no way to deny how important they have become to us.
