Pierce College is holding a canned and boxed food drive for the Salvation Army from Nov. 1 to Nov. 22.
Donation boxes will be located around the campus. The Student Life office room 418 in Cascade, library, Welcome Center, cafeteria, Olympic second floor, and the Rainier upper Winter Garden will all have boxes for students to place their donations in.
According to the Salvation Army the most needed food items are tuna and peanut butter based on the protein they provide.
Another factor to be aware of is the date on the can and or box. Make sure they have a shelf life long enough to get to the families without being considered out of date.
According to Sam Wiegman the donations go to people who can’t afford food for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
