College is a time of discovery and can lead to many changes in a person’s life. If you know someone who is going to Pierce College or was a former student here, they could qualify to win an award of $500 in cash from the Trustees Association of Community and Technical Colleges and will be a presented speaker (TACTC). This applies to students, current or formal, from both the Fort Steilacoom and the Puyallup campus. One student will be chosen from each campus and five will be selected from all across Washington State.
The only requirements to potentially win this award are as the following: the nominee must be a current or former student at Pierce College who has made remarkable progress in getting their degree which has helped them prepare for their future, and the contestant must write a moving story with a maximum of 500 words describing their journey in education and how Pierce College has supported them in their quest for a better future. The story can range from finding a new job with the help of Pierce College to learning the best ways to take care of yourself on your own.
After you complete the nomination form, attach it to the students statement and email it to Cheryl Batschi for Fort Steilacoom nominations at [email protected] or Angelique Ramsey for Puyallup nominations at [email protected] by the deadline (November 8th) and two nominees from Pierce College will be notified by November 14.
