This Fall’s production of ‘Treasure Island’ is sure to be an action-packed adventure. The play, based on the novel by Robert Louis Stevenson, will run from Oct. 30 to Nov. 1, at 2 pm in Pierce’s theatre.

“It’s like they tried to put a movie on stage,” Fred Metzger, the theatre director, said. “It’s all there; everything you’d expect to see in a movie. It’s exciting.”

The show has brought together by some of the best in the business. Boom Productions, which specializes in pirate productions, has supplied everything from time period guns to realistic sword fighting scenes.

“We’re bringing in the best of the best,” Metzger said.

The theatre department has even gone so far as to bring in time-period accurate costuming for the production.

Richard Buckley, manager of the Pacific Northwest Theatre Associates, is the designer for the show. “He designed the set. It’s got the huge steps going up, the pirate mast; it has everything,” Metzger said.

Complete with sword fighting scenes, and a music score like a movie, ‘Treasure Island’ will be a thrill for all audiences.

‘Treasure Island’ is sure to be an action packed, exciting show. It will run from Oct.30 to Nov. 2 at 2 pm in Studio 320. Tickets are $3 for the general public and $2 for Pierce College students.
