AIDS AWARENESS

Pierce College celebrated Red Ribbon day along the fireside lounge on December 2nd. The theme for 2015 was respect yourself and be drug free. According to worldsaidsday.org the red ribbon is the universal symbol of awareness and support for those living with HIV. According to the CDC more than 1.2 million people in the United States are living with HIV infection, and almost 1 in 8 (12.8%) are unaware of their infection. Free condoms and pamphlets were handed out too students. The pamphlets had a range of information from tips on safe dating to common myths about sex.
