The KONY 2012 viral video has caused a lot of young people in our country to take action
against worldwide criminal Joseph Kony.
Kony has been capturing children and forcing them to kill for over 20 years but that doesn’t
mean the youth of our country shouldn’t try to stop him now.
Many argue that Kony is not even in Uganda anymore so why care? He may not be in Uganda any longer but he is still victimizing children. That’s the biggest problem here.
A lot of the youth never knew about Kony until the video was shown. After you watch a video like that it’s hard not to want to get involved and help put a stop to the horrible things Kony has done to his victims.
Cover the Night is coming up in the Seattle/Tacoma area.
This is where people participate in hanging posters of Kony up around the city.
It’s great that the younger generation wants to get involved and help the cause. A lot of younger people may feel like this is the only way they can help.
Some may not have money to donate and some may feel as if they don’t have a voice to help the cause.
Giving them the opportunity to join in and help some innocent child in the world somehow is not hurting anybody. It’s never a bad thing to help other people.
While the non-supporters of the Kony movement may not agree and think this whole movement is just a fad, it’s still helping someone out there. There are still children out there that need to be saved from Kony. Kony still needs to be arrested.
