New student staff ready to introduce themselves and help out

Within just moments of meeting Kassandra Withrow, it’s easy to see why she chooses to be a student ambassador. Her warm and friendly personality makes it easy to let your guard down and ask questions.
Student Ambassadors work for the college with a multitude of responsibilities from conducting campus tours, helping with registration, peer mentoring, and answering questions about college life.
For this school year at Ft. Steilacoom there are five individuals here to help assist students around campus and keep students lives running smoother with less conflict.
Austin Miller, a running start student and Civil Engineering major plans to transfer to University of Washington in Seattle and has the claim to fame of having visited Disneyland.
Kassandra Withrow has a talent for being a mixologist and is known for making her own fermented tea calledKombucha. Withrow is in her third year at Pierce and will be transferring to Seattle Pacific University.
Deana Flores is a Linguistics and American Sign Language major and is seeking to transfer to University of Washington Seattle. For Flores, her unique ability for making balloon animals is just one of her talents.
As a multicultural specialist Ambassador Thomas Le is an International student from Vietnam, pursuing a associates degree in Business. Le had this to say about being an Ambassador.
“I want students to know about us and see that we’re here to help them be the best students they can be.”
Brandon Martin is a student Ambassador who is in the process of earning an AA in Business Administration, transferring to University of Washington Tacoma afterwards. For Martin his favorite part about Pierce is the people and the computer lab.
Withrow stated that “talking to a student Ambassador can be less intimidating to speak with and we’re in the same boat” when it comes to student issues.
