No Shave November is a great reminder of the effects that prostate and testicular cancer can have on men. It is also a subtle way to support and raise awareness of these forms of cancer as well. Besides, we all know that some ladies dig men with that beardy lumberjack look.
Men’s health has never been on America’s radar as much as women’s health has. Breast cancer, (which also can occur in men as well) gets way more attention than prostate and testicular cancer.
When asked, most people do not even know that No Shave November exists. Not much awareness is raised on this secret movement, but “I love boobies” bracelets are sold to countless people in awareness of breast cancer. So why not sell “No Shave November” bracelets?
Men have always seemed to downplay sickness. They think they will seem weak or helpless. So maybe that has some effect on whether or not this month of awareness towards prostate and testicular cancer is brought to the public’s attention or not.
Women also can benefit from this since they can choose to not shave in support of prostate and testicular cancer. Everyone can support this cause easily, by not spending money on shaving supplies and adding an extra couple minutes to their day. Both are things people want more of.
No Shave November should be advertised more and the word needs to be spread about this. Expect to see beards and hairy legs this November.
