How has racism changed over the years? Has it really changed at all?
Everywhere you go, you are teased because you are different. People become racist towards you because you are African American, Caucasian, Indian, Spanish, or Asian.
Some do it because prejudice has been integrated into society for so long that they may not know how to end the racism, while others lack the knowledge of the effect racism has on people. Watching many videos and making my own opinions based on racism I notice that the response and impact on people varied between now and the time when segregation was at its peak.
The people that spoke on the past were speaking about how they struggled to get where they are now. They also spoke on the inappropriate behavior the new generations have, such as the use of the word “Nigger” or “Nigga” as a way of greeting their friends. The other people from the new generations spoke on how they didn’t know what racism was, how they felt about racism now compared to the history of racism, and how they wondered if it was going to improve or get worse.
Racism is a belief or doctrine that inherent difference among the various human races determines cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one’s own race is superior and has the right to rule others, such as a policy or system of government, based upon or fostering such a doctrine; discrimination; hatred or intolerance of another race or other races.
There are many ways to word racism, but they all mean the same thing. They all mean to dislike someone because of the color of their skin or simply by their race. When people were asked about the difference between racism in the past compared to the racism now, many said that racism in the past was much worse than racism now. If you really think about it racism is bad and it never is better until everyone has stopped racism.
