When a woman is going through her cycle, she always tries not to let it affect her daily life, but sometimes it is impossible.
I have heard people say “I don’t trust anything that bleeds for a week without dying” and “girls should always wear mood rings” and other phrases pertaining to the state of women during their menstrual cycles: which I really appreciate.
Humor in a painful situation is comforting.
And let me tell you, periods can be painful. Even if a girl is on birth control, or doesn’t bleed, she can still exhibit symptoms of a menstrual period such as fatigue, cramps, headaches, body aches and cravings. PMS is actually very similar to pregnancy.
I understand that bleeding out of your vagina is nasty, but “that” time of month shouldn’t be a taboo topic. Almost all women experience it every month of their lives, and it is silly, if not stupid, to pretend it doesn’t happen.
When girls menstruate, they can feel fine, or like crap. It depends on a bunch of things, but generally girls get really emotional. Sometimes they get emotional to the point of crying, without knowing whether they are happy or sad.
I have never met a girl who acts like the ones in feminine product commercials. I am going to rant because they’re just always so happy, and it’s frustrating to watch them. Honestly, no brand of tampon I shove up there is going to be more comfortable, no mini-diaper I try to put on is going to look nice, so stop trying to make me “embrace my body” and love my period.
Periods are not fun. Ever. Point made.
