In today’s generations, everyone chases after the latest trends. Wanting the coolest clothes or having the smartest phone on sale.
Technology today has made keeping in touch with friends and family so much more easily, that no one, if not a few people in high school or college really take the time to write a hand written letter to a friend or a family member.
Everyone today is so caught up in texting, IM’ing, or web chatting that when the mail comes, they’re always disappointed that nothing is for them. So maybe people will get a hand cramp writing a letter or feel like it takes too long to put everything into words, but in the end the one on the receiving side will enjoy the feeling that someone was thinking of them enough to take the time to send something.
There’s also a greater chance that someone would be so thrilled to have received something that they might be inclined to send one back. Soon the letters will be flying back and forth.
If needing a reason to actually get motivated to get up and write a letter, try and consider that fact that May is the nation month for postcards. So go out and send out “hello I was just thinking about you” and make someones day.
