Every day of next week Pierce will be hosting local events to celebrate the international student body here at Pierce.
Starting Monday, Feb. 10, the Olympic building will be hosting an international-themed art in the gallery hallway. All art will come from student and staff submissions, and people can still submit until thursday, Feb. 6 to the International Office in CAS509.
On tuesday, Feb 11, there will be a Martial Arts demonstration at noon in the fourth floor lobby. Come to see live demonstrations of international self defense.
The cafeteria will be hosting “Talk Time” on wednesday, Feb. 12, a time to talk with the International Department staff and students while enjoying a special meal from a different country. “Talk Time” will be a reoccurring event on the second wednesday of each month. This is a good opportunity to get to know students from around the world and taste new flavors.
On thursday, Feb. 13 there will be an art drawing with prizes. The winner will receive movie tickets for two and a dinner certificate for Korean BBQ.
Finally, on friday, Feb. 14, the lecture hall in C332 will host a student panel on “Love, Relationships and Marriage Around the World.” Students will share their cultural traditions, customs and perspectives on this universal topic in time for Valentines Day. Bring questions and check it out, it will be held from noon to 12:50 pm in the lecture hall.
