On the corner of Steilacoom Boulevard and 88th lies a small, cozy café. The Li’l Firehouse Café has recently inhabited the building that once held Frenchy’s .The coffeehouse is decked out in firehouse decorations, as one may guess. Fire hoses and axes adorn the walls, creating a very friendly atmosphere.
Service was prompt and very personable. The owner explained the specials and what kind of coffee they brewed. They serve a wide assortment of bagel sandwiches and pastries. Their menu was very reasonably priced, only about $3 for a sixteen ounce coffee, and not even $4 for a sandwich.
Their coffee menu was rather large and specialized in energy drinks. They have roughly ten different smoothies that can have different energy drink shots added to them, and nearly the same amount of specialty coffee drinks that include energy shots. They have a special every day, ranging from classics like caramel macchiato’s to coffee and energy drink mixes. They also offer classic coffeehouse favorites like lattes and Americanos.
They participate in Blue Friday, 25 cents off, and have discounts for police, firefighters, and military customers. If you call on your way, they will have your order ready when you come through the drive through. They offer free Wi-Fi, have big comfy chairs and sturdy dining tables.
I ordered a Backdraft Breve and a ham, egg, and cheese sandwich. Both were served to me promptly. The sandwich was hot and delicious. The coffee was exactly as a prefer it; not too sweet, but not too bitter either.
If you need a new place to study, Li’l Firehouse Café is a great place to go. They are less than ten minutes from campus, and the prices are very reasonable; a perfect place for college kids. 5/5 would recommend.
