After numerous leaks, trailers released ahead of time
‘Fantastic Four’ and ‘Batman v Superman’ trailers released ahead of schedule due to leaks
July 7, 2026
After a long weekend of trailers from “Jurassic World,” “Star Wars: The Force Awakened,” “Ant-Man,” and “Terminator: Genisys”, people were also treated to a new “Fantastic Four” trailer and a teaser for the upcoming “Batman v. Superman” movie.
With the release of the “Fantastic Four” trailer, fans were treated to new clips showcasing the team’s unique powers. Clips showed Susan Storm’s (Kate Mara) invisibility and force fields, Johnny Storm’s (Michael B. Jordan) flame abilities, Reed Richard’s (Miles Teller) elasticity, and Ben Grimm’s (Jamie Bell) monstrous rock form in action.
While the trailer did a better job showcasing the interactions between the main characters as well as establishing a little bit more of the storyline, the tone still appears to be inconsistent. Some of the main concerns with the trailer are that the film is trying to copy a dark Christopher Nolan tone that worked for his “Dark Knight” trilogy while trying to apply the quips that Marvel is known for in their movies.
However, director Zach Snyder, the man behind “Man of Steel,” “Watchman,” and “300” released an official teaser for DC’s “Batman v Superman” film that gave fans a look at the obvious dark tone, a brief look of Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne and Batman, and Affleck in his mech-suit prepped to face Henry Cavill’s Superman.
Snyder released the official teaser after it was leaked online, though in poor quality, forcing the teaser to be released days ahead of its scheduled release. With all these trailers being leaked, the question that comes to mind is why leak a trailer that is not even finished and has poor quality?
It seems meaningless in the end considering the actual teaser or trailer comes out soon after in high quality picture and sound. Regardless, this year is geared to be one of the biggest years for movies with a highly anticipated blockbuster filled summer that’s getting jumpstarted with the release of “Avenger: Age of Ultron” and an even bigger Oscar film season.
