If there was ever an animated movie that fans wanted a sequel to, a large majority would ask for a sequel to the 2004 Oscar winning blockbuster, “The Incredibles.” Earlier this year, prayers were answered when Disney CEO Bob Iger confirmed that Pixar was beginning work on the film. Luck would also have it that Bird, the man behind the original “Incredibles,” ‘Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol,” and the upcoming “Tomorrowland,” which he chose over directing “Star Wars: The Force Unleashed” finished production on his newest film and is focusing on writing the treatment for the sequel.

Aside from an announcement about “The Incredibles,” Pixar also revealed that a third treatment for “Cars” was in the works, though some may argue that a sequel to “The Incredibles” is more important considering “Cars” is not held as favorably after mixed critical opinion of “Cars 2” from both fans and critics.

While the news about “The Incredibles 2” is exciting, there are plenty of questions pertaining to the film considering plot, characters, returning characters with actor Samuel L. Jackson who voiced a character called Frozone in the original has confirmed his character being in the sequel.  It is also unclear as to whether or not, Bird will direct the film, but odds are high considering Bird has directed every film he collaborated on since his feature film, “The Iron Giant.”

With Pixar set on releasing original films which includes this year’s “Inside Out” and “The Good Dinosaur” as well as sequels to their already established properties such as next year’s “Finding Dory,” the highly anticipated sequel to “Finding Nemo” and an upcoming “Toy Story 4,” Pixar is going to be real busy, but will no doubt please fans with their hard work.
