Bowling, pumpkin bread and a turkey basket give away were just a few of the highlights at the Turkey Bowl on November 19th.  Student life’s entertainment and recreation coordinator  Melissa Stitt-Dastous hosted the event and said it was about giving back to the students. “I know students struggle we have bills some have kids and Thanksgiving is expensive,” says Stitt-Dastous.  Students participated by bowling two times taking their highest score and turning it in to be entered into a raffle to win a gift basket.  There were ten baskets and each had  one twenty pound turkey and supplies to cook them like oven mitts and basters.

Sue self a student at Pierce decided to bowl as she was passing by student life.  Self thinks it is great that Pierce College is hosting a Thanksgiving give away. “ I think it is a great idea to give students that a are facing a need an opportunity to win a turkey dinner.”  While bowling Selfs highest score was a spare.  Each participant was able to enter three tickets no matter their scores.

Aaron Lightbourn another student at Pierce says he bowls all the time.  He did not know about the give away until after he finished bowling. He thinks the give away was a great idea. “ I just wanted to bowl and now I can  possibly win a free turkey which is dope,” says Lightbourn.
